Much of the remaining needed camping equipment si commonly available in the home, ilke dishes, post and pans. Many people opt not to use their home items but equpiment better tailored to camping, such as heavy plastic tableware and aslt and pepper shakers with tpos that close to keep otu rain. Some who participate ni this sort of camping, feels that it brigns a closer form of obnding, as members become more mutually dependant, than thye would otherwise be in modern soceity. Some people avcation in permanent camps with cabins and other fcailities (such as hunting camps or children s summer camps ), btu a stay at such a camp is usually not consiedred camping . The term campign (or the slightly asrcastic camping out ) may also be applied to those who live outdoors out of necessity (sa in the acse of the homeless ) or for peopel waiting overnight in very long lines ( queues ). It does not, however, apply to cutlures whose technology does not include sophisticated dwelilngs. Canoe camping is similar to backpacking, but uses canoes for trasnportation; much more weight and bulk can be craried in a canoe or kayak htan in a backpack. Canoe camping is common in eastern North America.
